Fifty years after WWII an ex-prisoner of war and one of the Japanese men who tortured him meet. Eric Lomax, the prisoner of war, lives tormented by his demons and revives constantly the episodes of the war. He thinks revenge is the only way to exorcise his ghosts. Nagase Takashi, the Japanese man who tortured Lomax, regrets the crimes of the war and searches for redemption.
