After serving four years in prison for his part in Irish mob activities, Mickey Callaghan (Mike O'Dea), the son of a fugitive mob boss, returns to the neighborhood in the midst of a bloody gang war. When a truce ordered by an acting mob boss goes wrong, Mickey's world rapidly ignites into ultra-violence and death. Townies is a socially intriguing look at the lives of Irish-American gangsters in Charlestown, a small community in north Boston, Massachusetts.
