Optimistic Jasper Cates and gloomy Callie Morgan initially clash but grow closer while waiting desperately for live saving transplant organs in a specialized university hospital ward. Finally they get them, actually from the same donor. Jasper keeps in touch with Callie, like virtual lovers, and works out the donor leaves an orphan girl. She lives with her grandfather, who opposes his plan for both of them enter her life.
