This television special focuses on the creators of lavish Christmas lights displays in Palm Springs, California and Richmond, Virginia. It details the design and construction, the joys and expense, of building an over-the-top display. In Palm Springs, we meet the builder of a gargantuan five million light holiday decoration. In Richmond, the community has so many gaudy outdoor displays that the local newspaper publishes a "Tacky Lights Tour" list every year and a webmaster created his own website to help visitors keep tabs on all the fabulous locations and fans can upload photos of their favorite sites.
