David Weiss, young and idealistic, joins struggling TV network IBS. His coworkers include the shark-like Mick McClaren, the airheaded Lindsay Urich, and Joanne Waters, the network's token black executive. His immediate boss, programming exec Paul Weffler, combines McClaren's amorality with Urich's cluelessness, which means his job is always threatened by both of them (and by Waters).
