When an assistant bank clerk learns of his wife's infidelity with his boss, he goes to Rio. With the banks money! He is a Samba teacher on the side back in London. He searches for meets a girl who is a famous Samba dancer. They date and dance a lot! They fall in love. He checks into a fine hotel and gets the VIP treatment as they see his money. The pile he has is only half the amount he arrived with as he was robbed by a local Mafia type when first riding in the taxi from airport to hotel. The girl turns out to be involved with the taxi drive who owes the local mobster and they plot to rob him. When bathing one morning he finds her missing and the safe is open and all is gone including his clothes an all. He is left on the streets of Rio with nothing! The worm turns and he and the taxi driver recover some of the cash, then steal all the money back from the mobster. The next morning finds Raymond in a more stable frame of mind, and he decides he should return the money to the bank, but when he discovers Orlinda is gone, he realizes she took the embezzled funds with her, and now he has to find her and recover the money before it's too late. Santiago Segura is a major comedy star in Latin America, but he was cast somewhat against type in this film, since he's not Brazilian, but a Spaniard.
