French-Canadian film about two teenaged girls. The film presents them as seperate from the rest of the world. They have each other but are very lonely and desperate for some meaningful distraction from their mundane lives. Each enjoys their own contact with strangers on buses and trains as they move about the city they live in, sometimes together, sometimes by themselves, always alone. The two understand each other very well and seem to interact more through telepathy than anything else. At the end they conduct a mutual suicide experiment. They take pills, drinks, and even a notice into the subway. They swallow scores of prescription sedatives, and fall slowly into each others arms as they grow groggy. Despite the crowds of people getting on and off the train, the by now unconscious girls are barely looked at twice. The train is parked away in a terminal, the driver and cleaners leave, the lights are turned off.
