Mohanlal and Sreenivasen are sons of Adoor and Srividya. Mohanlal is an executive, engaged to marry Shobhana and is under pressure to take the reins of her father's industrial empire. Sreenivasen is a doctor who lives an unhappy childless life with neurotic wife Nirmala. Unexpectedly, their mother is impregnated at a late age.
