Abby Singer chronicles a schizophrenic casting director, Curtis Clemens, hell-bent on ending his life in the aftermath of losing the love of a girl to the seething underbelly of the Sundance Film Festival. Nashville meets The Player set against the backdrop of Salt Lake City, "Abby Singer" simultaneously explores the disintegrating life of Kevin Prouse a self-loathing acting instructor and drunk in the throes of a divorce. Forever resentful of Kevin's thin success in the local film industry, Curtis still calls on his old college chum, leaving Prouse the only clue to salvage the last vestiges of his perturbed life. Shot raw in a dogmatic French New Wave/Cassavettes style, this film is highlighted by a score of celebrity appearances: Jodie Foster, Brad Pitt, Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Redford, Roger Ebert, Patricia Arquette, Jennifer Anistan, John Waters, Adam Carolla, Stockard Channing, Robin Tunney, Don Cheadle, Taye Diggs, Mark and Mike from "American Movie," Dave Atell, Kieran Culkin, Jeff Goldblum, and many more. ea8 Written by Wembly Hall Theatre Company
