After a near-fatal bicycle accident, Ray, a physicist, becomes obsessed with the event. Neglecting everything else in his life, he attempts to understand what happened to him, analyzing the minute causes and consequences of every moment of the accident. But with each answer he finds only deeper questions, and as he delves further into the murky depths of quantum physics, he isolates himself from the world outside his mind.
