An obsessive gambler, Michael Lehr, is in debt to a loan shark $23,000. If he cannot find the sum in two days he will die. One night at a black jack table, Michael encounters Angela -a new cocktail waitress who resembles his true life estranged daughter. In the end, Michael makes the money through a series of lucky bets. Yet, instead of appeasing the loan shark, Michael gives his winnings to Angela so that she can escape the casino life and have a shot at her dream- being a classical dancer in New York City.
