Totally Sadie is not a nostalgic look back at parachute pants and puffy perms. Nine-year old Sadie Delaney runs away from her mobile home on a summer day in the early-80's. Sadie tries to escape from her neglectful mother and abusive stepfather, but finds further violence and nastiness in the kids and adults of her small, working-class town.
