Based on a novel by Georges Simenon: After her parents' death, a young woman moves in with her unsophisticated country relatives with unfortunate results. Written by Anonymous 271 Edmée is a 16-year-old girl whose parents have both just died. She must now leave her life in Lille to live with cousins she has never met, in an isolated farm by a canal in Flanders. At the farm, Edmée is confronted with the harsh realities of life on the land and she longs to become a doctor like her father. However, she becomes more and more entrenched in the world that surrounds her. While living on the farm, Edmée becomes aware of her sexual power over her two cousins, Fred and Jef.
