The film is about a boy (Justin Long) who locks himself in the bathroom to work out math equations on the shower wall. The boy's obsessive compulsive parents are played by Wendie Malick and Stephen Root. Danica McKellar plays a cheerleader named Lacy who lives across the street from the boy, who is obsessed with her. Nancy's husband (Stephen Root) is too wrapped up in collecting things to help. A burglary brings the police to inspect the crime scene.
