An amazing athlete, a perfect student, Rob Freeman has everything it takes to succeed. But there's a problem: he's not the only one. Rob lives in a city where perfection is mandatory, and competition among peers is taken to extremes. Sometimes the lack of sleep, the marathon-length runs and hours of study lead young, healthy individuals to suffer sudden cardiac arrest, referred to simply as "karoshi." With the boiling stress from his commitments and the recent death of his mother, Rob stumbles forward - pushing himself beyond his limits and hoping to grasp the opportunity of a lifetime before it slips through his fingers.
