Seventeen year old Angela wants out. Her neurotic, pill-popping mother has imprisoned her in her room, while her pushover father plots to save her, but fails at every turn. When Angela unexpectedly attempts to kill herself, all become irreconcilably locked in an outlandish power struggle which magnifies her mother's deepest insecurities and confirms her father's incompetence as a psychiatrist.
