剧情：
芝加哥有一所天主教会办的女子高等学校，转学新生Janey Glenn由嬷嬷领到班上，站在一群瞪眼瞧着她的同学们面前，结结巴巴地自我介绍“我喜欢音乐做体操，还喜欢跳舞……”这话引起同学Lynne Stone的注意，两人马上成了好朋友。Lynne对Janey说，电视台舞蹈团在招收一对男女新团员，约她一起应试，可Janey有点为难，因为她的父亲严厉而古板。与此同时，城市另一端，小伙子Drew Boreman也叫上朋友Jeff Malene去碰运气，Jeff Malene有一身好舞艺。初试时，两男两女相遇，Janey和Jeff做舞伴，Jeff爱上了Janey。千金小姐Natalie Sands为了赢得舞蹈竞赛使出各种手段，先挤掉了Lynne，然后对付Janey。但实力就是实力，最终Janey赢得了比赛，Lynne也进了电视台的舞蹈团。
