Francis Magee was raised in Ireland and on the Isle of Man. He spent eight years as a fisherman before becoming an actor and has also been a member of several music groups including Namoza - who released four singles and an album - and Disco D'Oro. He studied acting at the Poor School at London's Kings Cross and made his television debut as Liam Taylor in 'East Enders', a role he played on and off for two years. Since then he has been a regular face in many television series, notably 'No Angels' and 'City of Vice'.
Martin Crewes, was born in Barnet, London, England in the year 1968. At age ten, he moved to Perth, Australia. He graduated in 1990 from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Musical Theater. His father David, who was born in New Zealand, was a performing arts actor, participating in many plays in the UK and Australia, such as the Homecoming (1968). His younger sister Amanda Crewes is also an actress, and graduated from WAAPA in 1998 with a Bachelors in Performing Arts. She just finished performing in the Barking Gecko Theatre Company's production, The Rodeo Kid. His mother Elizabeth and aunt Marie were also performing arts actresses, and the Crewes family were part of Playlovers, an organization that features amateurs in theater in Floreat, WA Australia, for many years. Martin is mainly a Performing Arts actor. His Australian theater credits include: Barnum, The Wizard of Oz, Aspects of Love, Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, West Side Story.
Gugu, short for Gugulethu, Xhosa for "Our Pride", was born in the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, England to South African doctor Patrick Mbatha and his wife, nurse Anne Raw. Her parents separated when she was a year old, though she is still close to her father, and she was brought up by her mother in the town of Witney, Oxfordshire. Here she joined the local acting group Dramascope and, from the age of eleven, appeared in the pantomime at Oxford Playhouse every year. A talented singer and dancer as well as playing the saxophone, she joined the Oxford Youth Music Theatre in her teens. In 2001 she won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London. Since graduation in 2004 she has appeared in all media, including as an acclaimed Juliet in "Romeo and Juliet" at Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre and on television in such varied series as "Bad Girls" (1999), "Doctor Who" (2005) and "Marple".
