One sister, Viola's face is terribly deformed, and she writes beautiful novels in the darkness of their home. The elder one, Marie, is protective of her sister and won't let a soul see her, out of fear. But one day, a fan of Viola's books swims up on shore... What will happen when the two meet?

On an isolated island live two sisters. One is a successful but reclusive writer called Viola Ge, who lives with her domineering sister. Deeply self-conscious of a surface flaw that her sister is quick to harp on, she hides herself inside away from the outside world with the curtains drawn. That is, until a determined male fan literally swims to the island to meet her, and in doing so, inadvertently forces her to confront her shame and truly live again.
